Facebook Ads Management Pricing
Facebook ads management usually costs somewhere between a few hundred and several thousand dollars a month, plus your ad spend, which you pay to Meta directly. The exact number depends on who you hire, how much you spend and what's included. Here's how pricing works, what to watch out for, and how I price my own work.
The two costs
- Ad spend. What you pay Meta to show your ads. This should always be billed to your own card in your own ad account.
- Management fee. What you pay the person or agency running the ads.
Be careful with anyone who wants your ad spend to run through their account. If you part ways, you can lose the account, the pixel data and the history.
Common pricing models
- Flat monthly fee. Simple and predictable. Most common for local businesses.
- Percentage of ad spend. Often around 10% to 20% of spend, usually with a minimum. Can reward spending more instead of spending better.
- Performance based. A base fee plus a share of revenue the ads drive. Aligns incentives, but needs clean tracking.
- Setup fee. A one-time charge for account setup, tracking, landing pages and launch creative.
Typical price ranges
- Freelancers: often a few hundred to around $2,000 a month.
- Small agencies and consultants: often $1,000 to $5,000 a month.
- Larger agencies: often $5,000 a month and up, or a percentage of large budgets.
These are general market ranges, not quotes. Creative production, landing pages and email are often extra.
How much ad spend do you need?
Enough to get real data. Many local businesses start around $20 to $50 a day. Ecommerce brands usually need more to test creative properly. If your budget is so small that the management fee is bigger than your ad spend, fix the offer and tracking first.
How I price
I like deals where I win when you win: a fair monthly base, plus upside tied to the revenue the ads drive when tracking allows it. Local businesses usually get a simple flat monthly rate with a setup fee. Ad spend always goes directly to Meta from your own account. We'll talk real numbers on the first call. Red flags
- Long contracts with no performance clause
- Ad spend running through their account
- Reports full of reach and likes but no revenue or leads
- No access to your own ad account
- Promises of guaranteed results
