Dirt Bike & Powersports Giveaway Marketing
Globe Throttle Marketing runs giveaway campaigns for electric dirt bikes, dirt bikes, side by sides, snowmobiles and other powersports prizes. I've run 25+ giveaways across cars, trucks and bikes, and I ride this stuff myself. Smaller prizes play by different rules than a supercar, and the campaign has to be built for that.
Why powersports giveaways are different
- Lower prize cost means a lower break even. An e-bike or dirt bike giveaway can be profitable with a much smaller budget than a supercar, which makes it a great first giveaway.
- The buyer is a rider, not a spectator. They know the specs. Content has to show the bike doing real things, not just sitting there looking pretty.
- Seasonality matters. Dirt bikes and side by sides peak heading into riding season. Sleds peak before snow. Timing the giveaway to the season changes results.
- Shorter cycles. Lower ticket prizes can run faster, so you can run more giveaways a year and build a repeat buyer base.
Prizes this works for
- Electric dirt bikes and e-bikes
- Gas dirt bikes and pit bikes
- Side by sides and ATVs
- Snowmobiles
- Gear and bundle prizes as secondary or bonus prizes
What I run
- Meta ads built around the giveaway timeline, with creative testing and scaling on real purchase data.
- Buy to enter store and bundles on Shopify, priced to fit a lower ticket prize so AOV still works.
- Tracking with Meta Pixel, Conversions API and UTMs.
- Klaviyo email and SMS so every giveaway builds a list you can sell the next one to.
- Riding content strategy. Send it clips, trail footage, unboxings and first ride reactions.
- Creator partnerships with moto, outdoor and lifestyle creators from a network of 50+ with 30M+ combined reach.
Powersports brands, not just creators
If you sell e-bikes, dirt bikes, parts or gear, a giveaway can be a list building and launch tool, not just a revenue campaign. Done right, it fills your email and SMS list with real riders who buy from you later. Done wrong, it fills it with sweepstakes hunters who never buy. Prize choice and targeting decide which one you get.
Rules still apply
Same compliance basics as any buy to enter sweepstakes: a free alternate method of entry, official rules, and NY and FL registration and bonding when total prizes go over $5,000. Many powersports prizes cross that line. Get an attorney to review before you launch.
For cars and trucks, see car and truck giveaway marketing. Creators launching for the first time should read how to start a giveaway.
Frequently asked questions
Do dirt bike giveaways make money?
They can, and the lower prize cost means a lower break even than a car giveaway. Results still depend on audience trust, store, AOV, tracking and execution.
Is an e-bike giveaway a good first giveaway?
Often, yes. Lower prize cost means less risk while you build your store, list and ad data, and the buyers you collect can be sold your next, bigger giveaway.
When is the best time to run a powersports giveaway?
Usually heading into riding season for dirt bikes and side by sides, and before snow for snowmobiles. Seasonal timing affects how badly people want the prize.
Can powersports brands use giveaways?
Yes. A well targeted giveaway can build an email and SMS list of real riders for future sales, as long as the prize and targeting attract buyers instead of sweepstakes hunters.
